Jewelry Bracelet
I broke one of my Brighton Collectible They repaired it at no cost to me.
I was very thankful, because I love all the Brighton Bracelets I have, because they were all given to me by my kids.
When I put my fixed Bracelet back into my Jewelry Box, I noticed at the bottom, that I had another Brighton Bracelet which I broke a few years back and totally forgot about it.
So I sent this Bracelet back as well for repair.
It was returned to me with the explanation it could not be repaired.
SHAME ON BRIGHTON JEWELRY DEPARTMENT!!!! IT was an easy repair to solder a loop.
I would have been happy to pay something for the repair.
I brought it to my Jewelry store here and they were surprised that Brighton did not want to fix it for me, since it was such a minor repair.
VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Straw bag
I purchased the new straw bag at a small store in Fort Myers fla. I had been looking at the bag for some time and finally was able to pay the $286 for the bag.
Well after 2 weeks the bag began to fray in two places. In a few days these two spots became a small hole. I called customer service and wanted a full refund and was told they only do repairs and a repair was the only option. The store told me to take it up with customer service.Linda at customer service was extremely rude and asked me "well what did you do the bag?" I did nothing to the bag and explained that I consider Brighton bags an investment and $280 is just too much to spend on a bag that falls apart.
No sure what to do now.NO more Brighton for me. Shame, I have a ton of it!
Preferred solution: Full refund

White purse turns yellow
I bought a white leather and straw purse and a white leather wallet. Both were very expensive.
About $200 for the purse and $150 for the wallet. The white leather on both turned yellow after the first year. They looked so bad, I can't use them. Part of the leather is still white and part is a dark yellow.
I took very good care of them. Otherwise, they look new. When I complained, they were very rude. They said purses were only guaranteed for 1 calendar year.
They did not apologize. They obviously didn't care. I even called the district manager. She was very nasty.
She even accused me of lying about the sales associate being rude. I sent a registered letter to Brighten corporate headquarters and got no response. For the price of these items I expected better quality.
This is the second time I've had an issue with Brighton. I will never buy one of their products again.

I have spent over 10,000 in this store...not anymore!
They tell you before you buy, "If any of our jewelry is substandard and breaks, we will fix it or give you a replacement. I sent back an earring where the piercing post broke off after I wore it 3 times only.
They took 4 months to send it back unrepaired. It is a simple solder but they were too smug and lazy to repair. I also sent back a necklace where over 1/2 the rhinestones fell out..they sent it back unrepaired also. But they did tell me a pair of shoes I had ordered were finally in...for $278.00...I walked out with out purchasing them.
I will never purchase another thing from Brighton again. Their jewelry is nice looking but breaks very easily and they lied to me about their repair policy just to get me to buy their cheap stuff. Never again. And they are so money hungry they gave my phone number to all there stores in my area and they all call me while I am at work begging me to please buy more stuff.
They always send a coupon but only right after you have shopped there and it expires in a week...in other words its unusable. They send Christmas, birthday, any ol holiday card but it's never really a card you, its a sales pitch where you have to spend a lot to get a few dollars off, and the "birthday gift for you" expires in 30 days "Happy Birthday"....Oh and when you are one of their very best customers you get a gift..but they always tell me they are out of gifts and they will catch me next time. When I remind them they owe me 3 gifts they give me one and they girl that told me catch you next time doesn't work there anymore so nobody remembers....I am getting the feeling as a customer, they really despise me as a customer, they only like my money. Like it makes them angry at me when their product breaks ..but they do like my money....and once they have it...they hand you your broken jewelry back ..with a gift card of course and tell you about the new cheap stuff they just got in.
There are too many other places who will treat a good customer like a good customer. With respect and appreciation for giving them lots of repeat business.
They are so stupid, if they look, when I bring in something broken and return to pick it up...I buy at least $800 worth of jewelry each time...now I have no reason to buy from them again since they refuse to repair even a broken post on an earing which was a matching set to a necklace and a bracelet. I will never shop there again.

Very expensive to repair a purse strap. Ridiculously so!
I was given a cross body Brighton purse and it is in need of a strap fix. It is braided and a couple of the strands are broken.
They told me it would cost $45 just to shorten the strap! It could use new hardware too, but I was afraid to ask as just fixing a strap (Not replacing) was ridiculously expensive.) And that on top of paying the postage to and from. I will go buy a different brand next time from someone who guarantees their parts. I don't mind paying good money for a good purse if the company has a decent repair policy.
Brighton is not that company.
There are at least 110 words in the body of these details, and I had to go count each word!
My next disgruntled review will be on Pissed Consumer customer service! Grrrrr.
- Purse itself
- Price of the repair options
Preferred solution: Just fix the purse and I will pay postage to and from.
Broken belt
A Brighton belt that has been worn a minimum of times just fell apart at one of the loops while I was removing it. Seeing I have a 25 inch waist, there is no way I was wearing it tight to hold in my waist line.
Of course, there is no guarantee because there are no tags on it. No more Brighton products for me. Not too many more details to be given but I guess I have to type 100 words. Wearing a belt worn correctly and it just breaks apart while taking it off, is not a belt that anyone wants to buy.
Brighton is far too expensive to not have a guarantee, The belt looks brand new. Will try to get it fixed, but only if it doesn't cost me an arm and leg to do it.
Brighton Jewelry - problems with several pieces
I have several pieces of Brighton Jewelry that have turned black in spots and are unwearable. A couple of years ago I wrote to them, sent in 4 pieces, and was told, like many others, that it's perfume, hairspray, etc.
I don't wear perfume or use hairspray. A Breast Cancer bracelet with 3 strands of chain turned black only on the center chain. Really!!! And this is my fault.
Brighton jewelry is expensive but not worth it. Costume jewelry I paid much less for has stood up longer than any Brighton piece.
Definitely won't buy any more and share and I share my thoughts about how bad it is with others whenever I can. The sad part is Brighton doesn't really care..........................................

After using Brighton earrings have to re-pierce ears!
The only thing I asked my Dad for at Christmas was gold earring studs and gold hoops. He bought me 3 pair of earrings from Brighton.
I wore a pair that had hearts on them. The first day I wore them for about 8 hours. They hurt my ears a little and made them red, but I don't really wear earrings that much so I didn't think too much of it. The next day I put them back in and wore them for about 8 or 9 hours thinking my ears just needed to get used to them.
When I took them out that night my ears were still hurting and red. The next day I was traveling back home by plane so it was a long day. Once I got home I took the earrings out and the place where the earrings touched my ears the skin had turned gray. It was kind of scary.
In the next couple days I didn't put the earrings back in, but the skin that had turned gray was now dead. It left big holes in my ears. I put Neosporin on my ears hoping they would heal and close the huge holes. They did end up closing, now my ears are no longer pierced.
They had been pierced since I was 7, now at 39 I have to go and get my ears re-pierced. I have been wearing earrings on and off for over 30 years with no experience like this ever.

I agree. As much as Brighton handbags cost there should be more than a 2 year warranty!
